Jonathan White is pleased to announce his spearheading a new ministry. White is starting up a ministry which will minister to new parents of children with physical and mental handicaps.
The new outreach will consist of White distributing copies of a special three song recording to hospital maternity wards throughout the United States. Each hospital will have the recording on hand to give to couples who have recently given birth to children with disabilities.
"I will be distributing them to the hospital maternity wards and having them hand out the CDs to the parents of the newborns," said Jonathan. "Not only will this let them know that someone else has been through the same thing before, but it will also let them know that it is not the end of the world, rather it is a great new beginning!"
White, the father of a daughter with Down Syndrome, saw the need for this kind of ministry, something that was not available to him when his daughter Brittany was born.
"When I first saw Brittany and the doctors told us that she had Down Syndrome, I was disappointed and angry," said Jonathan. "I thought God had given us second best. She would be ok, but different. I didn't want different, I wanted the typical 'normal' little girl. God saw fit to give us Brittany, and now I am sure glad that He did. I have found out that different isn't all that bad. In fact, it's pretty good. God didn't give us second best. He gave us the best that He had. We thank God everyday for this very special gift."
The project is entitled Sometimes Miracles Hide , and contains "Brittany's Song" (a song inspired by his daughter), "Sometimes Miracles Hide", and "God Has Got a Plan for Me".
